Please pay careful attention to the upcoming PSAT on October 10th. We will administer the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/MMSQT) to our students on Wednesday, October 10th. The exam will be held in the small gym and will begin promptly at 7:55 a.m. It will end at approximately 11:30-12:00.
Any students in grades 9-12 that wish to test should pay Ms. Patty in the main office, or pay online through Skyward Family Access and the “InTouch” system. The cost of each test is $16.00.
This is a great opportunity for students to see what the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) might look like and gain feedback on areas of strengths and weaknesses. In addition, juniors that take the test can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship if their scores are high enough. Only juniors can qualify.
Please sign up ASAP, as we only have 75 tests available. Practice questions can be found at:
As always, if your student would like to take the test, but there is a financial hardship, please email the appropriate counselor for assistance. Let us know if you have any questions regarding the events in our newsletter and take care.
Sincerely,

What are the differences between the SAT and ACT?
SAT Schedule - Check test dates and register at www.collegeboard.com.
NOTE: If you are planning on going directly to a 4-year college (i.e. Eastern Wa. Univ.) you NEED to have a SAT or ACT score to report to them when you apply. Deadlines for colleges vary starting in November and ending around March. Students going to a 2-year college or most trade/vocational colleges do NOT need an SAT or ACT score.
